There are two routes to becoming a nurse in Nigeria;
Getting a Bachelor of Nursing Science (BScN)
Attending a School of Nursing
The duration of nursing school is two (2) to four (4) years, depending on whether you’re applying for a certificate program or ND/HND in Nursing Science.
However, the first step to becoming a Nurse or Midwife through the Nursing School route is to attend an accredited institution. I have compiled a complete list of Schools of Nursing in Nigeria and their location.
Let me know in the comment if you have any questions or need further clarification. I would love to hear from you.

I want a private school in the south West that wil not stress me in terms of jamb and other admission requirements so far I can pay their school fees. Can you recommend any?
For the private nursing schools that don’t do jamb, how will one gain admission. Is it by writing the school internal exam or just applying if one can pay their tuition fee
The Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing (NAFCON) Kaduna uses JAMB for admission. It means you must register for UTME to gain admission to the Diploma programme.
The admission form will be available around July. Also, the school fees is about 185k.
If you study at a non-accredited School of Nursing, you won’t get your license to practice after school. It is compulsory that the school is accredited by the Nursing Council of Nigeria.
Please sir is there any school of nursing that does not require jamb and their form is still out now
Yes, Glory
A majority of schools are yet to release their admission form.
So, you stand plenty of opportunities to gain admission to a school of nursing that doesn’t require JAMB. Let me know if you have further questions.
