Science courses like Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Radiography, and Medical Laboratory have the highest cut-off marks due to the high number of students that apply to study these courses.
The major reason why many applicants are denied admission is because they apply to these competitive courses with a low JAMB score. They won’t be admitted for their desired course when they don’t get up to the cut-off after their Post UTME.
I always advise UTME students to evaluate their JAMB score before applying to any course. You must go for a department that is suitable for your JAMB score.
Fortunately, there are science courses you can apply to with a low JAMB score. If you apply to them, you stand a better chance for admission.
If you need further advice, let me know in the comment section, and I will reply as soon as possible. Also, feel free to ask me any questions about your admission.

Science Courses With Low Cut-off Mark

Science courses with low cut-off marks can be categorized into different groups referred to as faculties in the university.
I have done this so it would be easier for you to know the department you want to apply to for admission. Be informed that the name of the course may vary slightly depending on the university, but they are still the same.
Note that a university faculty is comprised of different departments. For example, five (5) courses or departments may make up a faculty.
- Basic Medical Science
- Physical Science
- Biological Science
- Agriculture
- Engineering
- Environmental Studies

Conclusion
The JAMB cut-off marks for these courses are usually around 180, depending on the school you’re applying to; Federal or State University.
I want to assure you that you stand a good chance for admission if you apply to any of these courses due to their low cut-off marks. The reason is because they are less competitive unlike Medicine, Pharmacy, etc.
I would love to hear from you. Let me know below if you have any questions or need further clarification.
I wish you all the best with your admission.

Please can I still apply for micro biology with UTME score of 174?
Yes, Gabriel
You stand a chance if getting Microbiology depending on the university you’re applying to.
Let me know if you have further questions.
