Here are tips for gaining admission to the Federal University Oye Ekiti;

  1. Get a High JAMB Score
  2. Apply Using the Correct Subject Combination
  3. Calculate Your Aggregate Score
  4. Meet the Departmental Cut-off Mark
  5. Stay Updated on FUOYE Post UTME

1. Get a High JAMB Score

JAMB score accounts for 60% of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) aggregate score. It means the higher your JAMB score, the higher your chances of admission.

If you’re applying to competitive courses like Medicine, you need a UTME score high enough to stand a chance for admission. It is a common mistake many aspirants make.

It is necessary to apply to courses for which your JAMB score is suitable based on the course’s competitiveness.

If you’re unsure of your chances, you can let me know the course you’re applying to in the comments to get the best advice.

2. Apply Using the Correct Subject Combination

Applying with the JAMB or O’level subject combination is necessary to get into FUOYE. Applicants with the wrong subjects would not be admitted.

There are two types of subject combinations you should be aware of;

  • JAMB Subjects: The four subjects you sat for in your UTME.
  • O’level Subjects: Five relevant subjects are in your WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB result.

For example, if you’re applying for Pharmacy, the correct subject combination is;

  • JAMB: Use of English, Physics, Biology and Chemistry
  • O’level: Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology

If you’re not sure of the correct subject for the course you want to study, let me know in the comments to get the information.

3. Calculate Your Aggregate Score

FUOYE does not conduct Post UTME, which means you can calculate your admission aggregate score using your O’level and JAMB results.

The calculation is easy as there is nothing to be scared about. Here is the formula;

  • JAMB: 60%
  • O’level Result: 30%
  • One Sitting: 10%

One sitting means you’re not combining O’level results from two years. Note that you cannot combine results for Medicine and Surgery.

The O’level grade points are;

O’level GradePoint
A16
B25
B34
C43
C52

Calculation Example

Now, let’s assume Olarewaju got 284 in his JAMB exam with the following O’level result in one sitting;

SubjectO’level GradePoint
English LanguageB25
MathematicsC56
GovernmentB34
Literature in EnglishC43
EconomicsC43
Total21

Here is the final calculation for the aggregate score.

ParameterCalculationTotal
JAMB Score284 x 60/40042.6
O’level5+6+4+3+321
Number of Sitting110
Total73.6

Let me know if you have any questions about the calculation.

4. Meet the Departmental Cut-off Mark

Every department at FUOYE has a cut-off mark based on the performance of students applying for that course.

It is necessary to know that the cut-off mark is not fixed, as it changes yearly according to how students perform in the UTME exam and is determined by aggregate scores.

You’d be denied admission without meeting the departmental cut-off mark for the course you’re applying to. I advised you earlier to apply to courses with a suitable JAMB score.

5. Stay Updated on FUOYE Post UTME

To gain admission to FUOYE, you must stay informed about the Post UTME, the release of the cut-off mark and the admission list.

I always advise students to join Facebook and WhatsApp groups where they can get relevant information.

Whatever social media group you find yourself in, ensure it is relevant to getting admission to FUOYE.

    • Hello Ayomide,

      There is no fixed cut off mark for Radiography as the score changes every year according to performance of students in the UTME exam. Right now, the cut-off mark is not yet out.

      But, you stand a good chance with a JAMB score above 290.

      Let me know if you have further questions.
