How to Get Admission Into the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) 2025

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) is a prominent federal university located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Gaining admission is a dream come true, especially for aspirants in the South-South region.

UNIUYO does not conduct a Post UTME screening exam for prospective students as the institution only makes use of JAMB score and O’level results for admission.

This method may sound simple, but any mistake you make with the course you’re applying to in school would hinder your chances for admission.

It is the reason why I have decided to make this post to properly guide you. Please let me know in the comments if you have any questions or require further clarification. I would love to hear from you.

How to Get UNIUYO Admission

Here is the list of requirements and things to follow to ensure you gain admission to study your preferred course at the University of Uyo;

  1. Choose UNIUYO as your First Choice
  2. Meet the JAMB Cut-off Mark
  3. Apply Online for the Post UTME
  4. Meet the O-Level Requirements
  5. Stay Updated on UNIUYO Post UTME News

1. Choose UNIUYO as your First Choice

The first step to gaining admission to the University of Uyo is choosing the school as your preferred first-choice institution during your JAMB registration for whatever course you want to study.

UNIUYO does not consider candidates who select the school as their second most preferred institution. It means that you must be determined to want to study at the university.

Even if you selected another school during your JAMB registration, you can always apply for the JAMB Change of Course form.

2. Meet the JAMB Cut-off Mark

The second requirement is meeting the JAMB cut-off mark for UNIUYO, which is a minimum score of 150. It means you’re eligible for admission if you get above this score. Some highly competitive courses like Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, etc., have a different cut-off mark.

But note that meeting the JAMB cut-off mark does not automatically qualify you for admission. You still need to get above the departmental cut-off mark.

This cut-off mark is determined based on the performance of students. For example, higher performance means a higher cut-off mark.

UNIUYO does not categorically release their cut-off mark, but as an aspirant, you should be able to determine your chances based on your JAMB score.

For example, if you’re applying for Law or Medicine, you’d need a UTME score above 290 to have a good shot at admission.

Feel free to let me know your JAMB score and the course you’re applying to in the comment box, and I will give you the best advice.

3. Apply Online for the Post UTME

The application is done online, and you don’t need to upload any documents as your details will be pulled directly from the JAMB portal.

O’level, including WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB results, are requirements for admission to any of the courses at UNIUYO.

Every department has a list of five O-level courses you must have in your results to be admitted to the course of study.

For example, if you’re applying to study Pharmacy, you have a minimum of C6 in your results.

  • Mathemtics
  • English Language
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology

The O’level subjects for all the courses at UNIUYO are accessible on this page.

Note that it is compulsory to upload your results on the JAMB portal to be considered for admission.
