    • Esther,

A “College of Nursing” typically offers diploma or associate degree programs, focusing intensely on practical clinical skills and preparing students for direct entry into registered nursing roles, usually in a shorter timeframe (around 2-3 years).

In contrast, a “University of Nursing” (often a department or school within a larger university) provides a broader academic curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and often higher degrees like MSN or DNP, emphasizing critical thinking, research, and leadership, with programs typically lasting 4-5 years for undergraduate studies.

While both lead to becoming a Registered Nurse, the university path offers a more comprehensive education, often opening doors to advanced practice, specialized roles, and further academic pursuits.

JAMB is required for admission to Kano State School of Nursing.

To apply to the school, you will go to a JAMB CBT centre to change your choice of institution.

For the application process, you will apply to the school online when the form is out.
